Getting Here (The Pathfinder CofE Primary School)

Pathfinder Way, Northstowe, Cambridgeshire, CB24 1AA

  • Pathfinder Church and Little Explorers both meet in The Pathfinder Church of England Primary School. This is also where we host many of our special events and festivals.
  • Disabled parking is available in the staff car park
  • Other Parking: For midweek events, other parking is available just off site.  For Weekend and Evening events, all visitors are welcome to use the staff car park.
  • The school is wheelchair accessible.
  • Because we meet in a school, it is designed to keep the children safe inside. So we always need to open the doors from the inside to let in church visitors.
    • For Little Explorers, enter the main school foyer, and ring the doorbell to the Wrap Around Room just on the right.
    • For Pathfinder Church and events in the school hall, the main gates to the hall will be open, and you enter through the hall's fire exits. In winter, we close the door once the service has started but keep an eye out for visitors—just give us a wave, and we'll let you in.

Inside our main venue

  • There is a disabled toilet on site.
  • We use a dyslexia-friendly font on-screen where possible.
  • If you find reading the screen or following a live speaker inaccessible we’re happy to share slides or a full text version of the services in advance so you can follow along on your own device.
  • If English is not your first language, let us know. We'd love to include your mother tongue in our shared prayers, and seek out translations to support your full involvement.
  • We can provide a hearing loop or large print resources if you contact us in advance. To minimise paper use, we try to print to order.

Seating & Quiet Spaces

At Pathfinder Church and whole network events:
  • Seating is on folding chairs around standard-height tables, which can make space for wheelchairs
  • We always have a few sturdier, comfier chairs, often in the chapel, and are happy to move them wherever you’d like to sit.
  • The chapel is kept as a quiet space—you’re welcome to head there at any time if that’s helpful.
At Little Explorers, children sit on floor cushions with their carers. Adults or children for whom sitting on the floor is inappropriate sit on low chairs or make use of their normal mobility aids.

Families & Sensory Resources

  • Children are encouraged to take full part in our main gatherings.
  • Multisensory resources for all ages are available on the tables during Pathfinder Church services. Extra Play-Doh can be found in boxes under the tables.

Refreshments

  • Gluten-free options are routinely provided, as are dairy-free biscuits.
  • Let us know if you need non-dairy milk or other special diets

Church House & Home Gatherings

  • Street parking is usually available right outside (ask if you need us to reserve something)
  • Single-level access makes Church House suitable for meetings and Compline.
  • However, toilet facilities are standard domestic ones and may not be fully accessible.
  • Similar arrangements apply to other home-based gatherings—please contact us for more details.

Inclusion - ask us about our welcome!

We've used Honest Church to help articulate our welcome for women and LGBTQ+ people, and work to include people across regardless of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.
