Our 2022 Christmas Appeal

This year, we are inviting Northstowe to join us raising funds for two charities making a tangible difference, demonstrating that There Is Room for those who might otherwise be overlooked.

Locally, we're supporting the Cambridge Churches Homeless Project

The Cambridge Churches Homeless Project (CCHP) is a collection of churches and a synagogue that work together to offer practical care and support to people who would otherwise be sleeping rough in our city each winter.

And, internationally, we continue our partnership with INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE MISSON.

IJM works with authorities and partners around the world to protect people in poverty from slavery and violence. New data shows that there are an estimated 50 million people trapped in slavery right now. One in four of these is a child, which means that more than 12 million children will spend Christmas trapped in slavery.

As a community, we want to stand with IJM to bring light to this darkness and help keep children, women and men safe this Christmas.

Every pound you give to IJM this Christmas will be doubled, each pound will become two (up to £25,000). The money we raise together will enable more investigators, social workers, and lawyers to help bring people to safety and provide trauma-informed care so they can heal and look forward to their future in freedom.
International Justice Mission are a global organisation partnering with local justice systems to end violence against people living in poverty.

THERE IS ROOM for you
at Northstowe's Christmas Events

Whether you have religious or non religious beliefs, there is room for you here!

As you read through the various events, you'll notice that some have a greater emphasis on simply belonging, together, here in Northstowe,  We're joining in with Northstowe's Winter Festival, because we love to celebrate the diversity of our growing community!

We're continuing with our regular pattern of Sunday Gatherings - there is Room for you to join us there!

We are also holding spaces with opportunities to reflect on the ancient but still unfolding story of God here among us, making room for you. Many are joyful. Some are spaces for lament and tears, as we recognise that this season can be hard for many reasons.

Whatever your background, you are welcome and invited to join us in any and all of these spaces. Because, THERE IS ROOM for you.

About the musicians: The Punting Players - and friends!!

At our musical events, we're honoured to be uniting local Northstowe musicians with a great group of brass players: The Punting Players busk traditional Christmas carols and songs around Cambridge! They are called the Punting Players, as they started their journey playing carols whilst being punted up and down the river Cam!

They suggested CCHP to be one of our charities this year.

As well as their Northstowe, events you can find them:

- 10am to noon on Sunday 18th December in the Grand Arcade,

- 11am to 1pm on Saturday 17th December near the Market Square,
